CASE STUDY: Helping Louisiana OMV Improve Efficiency
Challenge
The Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles was challenged with providing the highest level of quality service in a timely and efficient manner while protecting customers and ensuring public safety. COVID-19, hurricanes, extreme temperatures and office closures were all factors that convinced the Louisiana OMV to look for a scheduling solution that empowered employees to deliver a better quality of customer service in a safe and effective manner.
Solution
The Louisiana OMV began using AppointmentPlus in May 2020 to help offset the challenges presented by COVID-19. With the software, citizens have the ability to choose which field office, date, time and type of service fits their schedule best. The scheduling process factors in how much time is needed for each type of appointment. This avoids them spilling into one another, as well as any leftover time if an appointment concludes early. With schedules clearly outlined, OMV staff can maximize their time while minimizing wait times for customers.
The public response to OMV’s new scheduling system has been overwhelmingly positive, with citizens even taking to social media to compliment the transformed booking process. While Louisiana’s OMV adopted appointment scheduling software in response to the pandemic, they plan to continue leveraging the value of AppointmentPlus well into the future.
